Spiridonovka 26, MOSCOW

The space is located on the last
floor of a brick building on Spiridonovka street which was constructed by the architect Alexander Zelenko
in 1925-26.

The house is surrounded by architectural masterpieces
of pre-revolutionary Moscow:

one of the most famous works of Fedor Shekhtel, the neo-Gothic estate of Zinaida Morozova, is opposite the house on Spiridonovka street, and from the windows on Maly Patriarchy lane there is a view of the magnificent “Italian Palazzo” of the Tarasovs built by Ivan Zholtovsky.

planning concept

The space is outlined by good geometry and excellent natural lighting.

The internal load-bearing structures were only two reinforced concrete columns in the center of the volume, therefore it was possible to freely zone the space and provide an entrance hall, a bedroom, a bathroom, a children's room and a spacious kitchen-living room.
The main volume is set by the living room combined with a kitchen, dining area, family library and the pearl of the project - an antique cabinet grand piano.

This musical instrument was produced by Diderich Frerich, the Manufactory of the Court of His Imperial Majesty, and is a true family heirloom, passed down from generation to generation.

Decoration

White and original English gray shades by Farrow&Ball, Manders, dominate in the space.

The main color accents are the exquisite handmade tiles by Winchester Classic, Original Style, as well as Mediterranean colors in the kitchen-living room and the work “Golden Mist” by Natalia Yustitskaya in the bedroom.
In decoration preference is given to natural materials - wood, marble, ceramic tiles - and a understated color palette.
Wooden elements in warm light shades - oak block parquet, countertops and furniture in the kitchen-living room - softly balance with the walls of classic cool shades.
